Ron Kidd, a Senior Dharma Teacher from the 10 Directions Zen Group in Chicago, started our mission to the offenders of the ISP back in the late 1980’s. Since then, continued to present meditation classes
to the offenders of the ISP and Westville Correctional Facility. Our only absences have been during COVID-19 protocols and extended lock downs of the offender community. 

Each week, we strive to give the men an hour or two of respite from the noise and chaos of the cell house. Each month, we issue a ‘Zen Teaching letter, which is distributed to them by the Chaplain and
placed on their network, so it can be accessed by the Intranet prison pads.
